A Different Path to Lending
Monument City Capital was built on firsthand experience. Shaun Magner's journey began in residential construction and carpentry, where he developed an appreciation for real estate as more than numbers on a spreadsheet. Every property represented a physical asset, a neighborhood, a budget, a timeline, and a plan that had to be executed well.
In his early twenties, Shaun purchased his first rental property, taking his first step toward building a long-term real estate portfolio. Years later, in 2016, he completed his first fix-and-flip project, marking the beginning of a deeper commitment to building a real estate business of his own.
Like many investors, he learned the business one project at a time, by borrowing hard money, managing renovations, solving problems, and building long-term relationships. Over time, private lending became an essential tool for growing his own portfolio, shaping his perspective on what borrowers value most in a lending partner: speed, consistency, clear communication, and practical decision-making.
Those experiences ultimately led to the founding of Monument City Capital, built around real investing experience, local market knowledge, and a clear understanding of what it takes to complete successful real estate projects. Today, the company serves both borrowers and capital investors through a lending platform rooted in disciplined underwriting, first-lien lending, responsible stewardship, and long-term relationships.
